AG DAN GWANG CHIL (South Korea)

AG DAN GWANG CHIL

from South Korea

The nine-piece South Korean ensemble ADG7 (aka Ak Dan Gwang Chil) is equally inspired by sacred, shamanic and secular ritual music of the Hwanghae-do region and the contemporary Eurocentric styles of modern K-pop. A rhythmically powerful blend of a raw, danceable energy. The band’s charismatic and stylishly dressed frontwoman trio is supported by masterfully played traditional Korean instruments. ADGY shines in a distinctive theatrical style, a completely new musical experience for Western ears. With Kim Hyun Soo (Daeguem), Lee Hayang Hee (Piri & Saenghwang), Kim Dong Hoon (Ajaeng), Weon Meon Dong Ma Ru (Gayaguem), Chun Hyun Jun (Percussion), Sunwoo Jin Young (Percusssion), Bang Cho Rong (Vocals), An Min Young (Vocals), Lee Yoo Jin (Vocals)
