ANA FRANGO ELÉTRICO & THE WATERBIRDS

ANA FRANGO ELÉTRICO & THE WATERBIRDS
Brazil | Germany
Ana Frango Elétrico, the current leading icon of the Brazilian indie scene from Rio de Janeiro, returns after her acclaimed performance at last year’s Clubnacht and this time takes over the large open-air stage of the Annahof – in a special collaboration with the Waterbirds, the festival’s horn section with Martin Krechlak (saxophone), Marie Kuhar (trombone) and Michael Salvermoser (trumpet). Ana, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1997, is not only a singer and multi-instrumentalist, but also a producer, poet and artist. Her music combines pop, disco, bossa nova and experimental sounds to create an unmistakable sound that reflects Brazil’s cultural diversity. The name of her home city, “River of January”, goes back to a mistake made by Portuguese sailors – there is in fact no “Rio de Janeiro”, but major waterways
such as the Guandu River still characterize life in the metropolis to this day.
Ana is known for her poetic lyrics and innovative arrangements on albums such as Little Electric Chicken Heart (Latin Grammy-nominated) and Me Chama de Gato Que Eu Sou Sua. With her open, experimental style and the special energy she brings to the stage, her concert at the Water & Sound Festival 2025 promises to be an extraordinary musical experience between the water worlds of Rio and Augsburg.
