SAN SALVADOR
France
Occitan polyphony is the starting point for this six-part vocal and percussion collective in search of a universal folklore, deeply rooted in the troubadour traditions of the region, yet situated between cultures and musical genres. In their compositions, they use the Occitan language like a rhythmic instrument, combining poetry with hypnotic vocal harmonies, interlaced with shifting patterns of percussion. On the album “La Grande Folie” they question the myth of an unchanging “heritage” and instead try to “answer the question of the boundaries between tradition and creation”. San Salvador, they are modern Occitan troubadours who always captivate the audience with their intense performances.
